About these terms

These Terms of Use govern your use of tileleague.com, the Mahjong app where these terms are provided, and related services operated by Orion Designs LLC in St. Petersburg, Florida, United States (“we,” “us,” or “our”). By using the services, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the services.

You must have the legal capacity to enter this agreement. If you are below the age of legal adulthood where you live, your parent or guardian must review and agree to these terms on your behalf and supervise your use. Online services are not intended for children under 13, and applicable higher local age requirements also apply.

The Privacy Policy explains how personal information is handled. It is a privacy notice, not a blanket request for consent to every processing activity.

Using the services

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable permission to use the website and app for their intended personal and recreational purposes, subject to these terms and any applicable app licence. You may read, link to, and share links to the library. Rights in third-party and openly licensed material remain governed by their respective terms.

You are responsible for securing your device and Apple Account, choosing accurate profile information, and using public names and shared content you have permission to provide. Do not impersonate others or share another person’s private information without authority.

You must not interfere with the service, bypass access or purchase protections, introduce malicious software, exploit bugs to obtain rewards, falsify results, manipulate ratings, collude to distort competition, harass other players, infringe others’ rights, or use the services unlawfully. Restrictions on reverse engineering apply only to the extent permitted by law.

Gameplay, scores, and MRS

Mahjong traditions and house rules differ. Check the selected rules and scoring options before starting a game. Library articles are educational introductions; the versioned rules used by a match determine its outcome.

Scores, hand suggestions, statistics, and Mahjong Rating Standard (MRS) values are provided for play and personal progress. Review manual entries and photo suggestions. MRS is an estimate of skill with uncertainty, not a guarantee of future results or an independently certified title.

We may correct errors and address abuse in game records, rewards, and ratings. Ratings may change as eligible results are processed. Availability of a ruleset, league, or verification method in an article or proposal does not mean it is available in every app version.

The services do not accept wagers or pay real-money prizes. Game scores and Jade are not money held on your behalf. We are not a party to any private arrangement between players and do not administer or enforce such arrangements.

Purchases and virtual items

Where available, in-app purchases are processed by Apple. The price and product terms displayed in the App Store purchase flow apply. Apple’s billing and refund processes apply alongside your mandatory consumer rights. Do not make an unauthorised purchase using another person’s account.

Jade and cosmetic items are digital features for use within Mahjong. They do not earn interest, have no cash-out value, and are not transferable or redeemable for cash unless applicable law requires otherwise. Access and recovery depend on the supported account and purchase services.

We may update the catalogue and features. We will honour applicable consumer rights when changes materially affect paid items. We do not impose a blanket “no refunds” rule that overrides the law or Apple’s refund process. Content, ownership, and links

We and our licensors retain rights in our original software, artwork, branding, and editorial content. These terms do not give us ownership of traditional mahjong rules, historical facts, or material owned by others. Rights in any separately published MRS specification are governed by its stated licence.

You retain rights in content you provide. You permit us to store, process, synchronise, and display that content only as reasonably needed to operate the features you use, maintain and protect the service, and meet legal obligations. Shared records may remain relevant to other participants after you stop using a group.

You may send feedback voluntarily. We may use non-confidential feedback to improve the services without payment or an obligation to implement it. Please do not send confidential material you are not authorised to share.

Links to Apple, museums, publishers, and other third parties are provided for convenience or as sources. Their services and policies are their own. A citation does not imply an endorsement of Tile League or Mahjong.

Availability and ending use

The website and app may change, be interrupted, or become unavailable. Online features depend on networks and third-party services. “Coming soon” notices express plans and do not guarantee a release date.

You may stop using the services at any time. In the app, use Settings → Delete account to delete your account, subject to the limits explained in the Privacy Policy. Contact privacy@joinmetric.com for help or other personal information requests.

We may restrict access when reasonably necessary to address a material breach, abuse, security risk, or legal requirement. Where appropriate and legally required, we will provide notice and an opportunity to resolve the issue. Provisions that need to survive termination, including ownership, accrued payment obligations, and dispute provisions, continue to apply.

Disclaimers and responsibility

To the extent permitted by law, the services are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of uninterrupted operation, accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or error-free results. We do not exclude warranties or guarantees that the law does not allow us to exclude.

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, or loss arising from matters outside our reasonable control. Our aggregate liability arising from the services is limited to the greater of US$100 or the amount you paid to us for the services in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.

These exclusions and limits do not apply to fraud, wilful misconduct, gross negligence, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other responsibility that cannot lawfully be limited. They do not reduce mandatory consumer remedies, including remedies for digital content where applicable.

Questions and disputes

Please contact support@joinmetric.com if something goes wrong. We welcome the opportunity to understand and resolve a concern, but contacting us does not prevent you from exercising a legal right or require you to miss a filing deadline.

These terms are governed by Florida law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where the mandatory laws of your place of residence provide otherwise. Subject to those mandatory rights, disputes may be brought in the state courts in Pinellas County, Florida, or the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida where it has jurisdiction.

Nothing in these terms requires binding arbitration or waives participation in a class action. Where consumer law allows you to bring a claim in your home courts or requires the application of local law, these terms do not take away that protection.

Changes and contact

We may revise these terms to reflect changes in the service or law. We will update the date above and provide notice of material changes where appropriate or required. Changes apply prospectively. If renewed agreement is required, we will ask for it.

If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. These terms and any applicable supplemental app licence form the agreement concerning their subject matter.
